(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The international conference on Islamic awakening, which has brought together about 600 international scholars and intellectuals, will begin today (Saturday) at the IRIB International Conference Center in Tehran. The two-day conference will focus on ongoing political developments in the Middle East and North Africa. Scholars and academics from 80 countries will discuss the future of revolutions in the region and explore ways how to guide the movements in the proper direction and turn the tide of developments in favor of regional people. The conference is unofficial and the countries’ officials have not been invited to take part in the event. The secretary of the conference, Ali Akbar Velayati, has said that the main purpose of the conference is to clear the way for the exchange of ideas among countries on the history, root causes, goals, impacts, and outlook of the Islamic awakening. /129
